Stars of the Future 2010
As the deadline for qualifying approaches most of the Academy squad have now qualified. The most recent qualifiers Edward and Billie did so at the South of England Championship competition day at Reading.
All squad members should step up their competitive activity to ensure that they are continally intouch with their competitive feel.
LA Fitness Studio Move
Classes and lessons are now gearing up for the move to the Dance Studios at L A Fitness. This is one of the best moves made by the Academy and will most certainly change the way our dancers perform.
Cha Cha Changes To LA Fitness
DanceSport Academy constantly reviews all aspect of its operations and has recently looked at the training facilities. The facilities review found that we needed to move to more purpose built facilities and in particular facilities with mirrors.
LA Fitness in Bedford has two studios: Studio 1 a large mirrored studio, and Studio 2 a smaller studio. Both studios are air conditioned and have quality sound systems. It is our intention to use the larger Studio 1 as much as possible. Apart from the quality of the studios there are other benefits. LA Fitness has a full time reception with professional friendly receptionists, there are changing facilties including showers, free lockers and a tea and coffee lounge. The surroundings are luxurious and the ambience is what you would expect form a thoroughly professional operation.
On Tuesday 2 March 2010 a license agreement was signed with LA Fitness to start the process of change, all personal training sessions held on Saturdays will move to LA Fitness from 27th March 2010. Our plan is to move other classes and lessons as times at LA Fitness become available, this also includes our classes for Adults. DanceSport Academy believes that this is an excellent move for all our dancers who will benefit greatly from the new and improved facilities.
Stars Of The Future 2010/Britain's Best 2010
Our competitive couples are now working towards qualification for the Britain's Best 2010 Final in Bournemouth and the Stars Of The Future 2010 Final in Brentwood.
They will be attending qualifiers for these events over the next few months. Details of heats are listed in our competition dates section.
Karen Hardy Latin Training
Our Juvenile and Junior squad members have just attended the famous Karen Hardy studios. They received expert help from Karen Hardy herself, and everyone including Karen herself enjoyed the experience.
There were many positive comments from Karen and ther is a strong posibility another session will be available soon. This is great news as Karen has a very busy schedule and is not always easy to book lessons with.
Champions Of Tomorrow 2010
Well done to our dancers who competed at the Champions Of Tomorrow 2010 at Blackpool in January. It was a long hard trek in winter conditions so well done to all the parents for making the effort to travel.
It was a great introduction to top level competition for many of the couples.
