Clubmark Status

DanceSport Academy are currently working toward a Government recognised status called Clubmark.

DanceSport Academy Rules

DanceSport Academy is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members. The club believes that all members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect to others and be open at all times, sharing any concerns or complaints that they may have with the principal, Reg Challinor, about any aspect of the club.

As a member of DanceSport Academy you are expected to abide by the following junior club rules:

  1. All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.
  2. All members must respect opponents.
  3. Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they cannot attend or are going to be late.
  4. Members must wear suitable kit for training and match sessions, as agreed with the coach/team manager.
  5. Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.
  6. Junior members are not allowed to smoke on club premises or whilst representing the club at competitions.
  7. Junior members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.
  8. Moving around the dance area with water or food should be around the outside edge.
  9. All members must be respectful of partners and partnerships and contribute equally.

Dress Code
The official dress code for competitions is regulated by the B.D.C (British Dance Council) for competitors taking part in open competitions. E.A.D.A. (English Amateur Dance Association) have published an overview of these rules as a guide to parents.

Excellence Coaching
Excellence Coaching Scheme fees will be negotiated and agreed between the Excellence Coaches and DanceSport Academy. Appointments for Personal Training must be made through DanceSport Academy. The Excellence Coaches will not accept any direct contact regarding lessons.

Where personal training lessons are booked the terms and conditions of the Excellence Coach will apply. If a personal training lesson is cancelled at short notice the Excellence Coach MAY expect you to pay for the session. All cancellations must be reported to DanceSport Academy as quickly as possible, we will then see if it is possible to arrange a substitute. In the event DanceSport Academy cannot then a fee may be payable (charging for late cancellation of lessons is standard practice in the industry).

Demonstrations
All club members should seek the approval of Bedford Amateur DanceSport Club before agreeing to perform any dance demonstrations.
